March Madness

Today it snowed like a motherfucker here in Philadelphia. On Tuesday we had the MOST beautiful day I have ever seen and then today we got like almost a damn foot of snow! Well not really but it was a shit load. The airport was closed down...they even closed off I-95! We are my tax dollars disappearing too. No streets were plowed in Center City...I hear my tax dollars being incinerated at this very moment, *sigh*. My trek to work was like Kim Hong Bin trying to climb everest, very intense. This city needs to get its act together quick fast and in a hurry. An associate told me today that he sat in an airplane for 6 HOURS while the plane was still on the RUNWAY!! I would have freaked OUT!! First of all I hate being on a plane much less one that is on the ground waiting for hours. He could have flown to the Caribbean and back in the time span. But nothing beats Jet Blue. They reportedly were stuck on the runway for a whopping 12 hours when their plane got frozen to the tarmac! Lord have mercy I would have killed somebody. I hope the weather gets better tomorrow cause this March madness ain't no joke.

Speaking of March Madness...I can't get into the NCAA basketball stuff at all. I just don't get it. What is up with all the pools and such. Somethings are meant to be a mystery for me this is one of them.

Tunes of the Month

Tunes!! So lately I have been dabbling in different types of music. I recently started listening to a beautiful Afro-Portuguese songstress named Sara Tavares. I fell asleep last night listening to her melancholy lullabies that seems to sit on your soul like a good hymn on a Sunday morning.
A couple weeks ago I was prowling Afrobella.com one of my favorite blogs and I discovered two more "bellas" to add to my repertoire of soulful songstresses: Alice Smith and Amy Winehouse. Many of you may have seen Amy Winehouse's video on VH1 by now if you have she is pure hottness. Something about British singers that I just can't place my fingers on...oh i got it they are masters are making the old seem new again. This is exactly what Amy Winehouse does. She is blend of old souls. I can really relate to her songs. She is really amazing. Alice Smith on the other hand has a style all her own. Her voice at times sounds like a strange instrument. She has a unique style and I wish her Amy and Sara the best. Tunes!!

The 300

I really enjoyed The 300. I especially enjoyed the men. My God were they hot! That casting director sure has a good eye. Ladies if blood and guts ain't your thing, at least see it for the goods. For my male readers there was a lot of action, sex, swords, blood and death, blah blah: Think Sin City meets Troy with twist of Gladiator. I just want to go on record for saying that The 300 was just a movie and I do not think that it is historically correct or whatever. I recently read that the Iranians are "outraged" because of the film. Yes America we have done it again. You know what I don't want to get into politics. Lately I've noticed that politics can find its way into anything you say. So none of that in this post.

My cat is peeing...everywhere.

My cat keeps peeing on my stuff. I dont know whats wrong with her...well actually I do. She is not fixed. It's not because I don't want her to be but simply because I can't find a place that I can afford as yet. Until then she will continue peeing on my pocket books, back packs and oh yea spraying the fricking walls. I didn't even know female cats could spray. Anyways we've been scrubbing away at the piss. I can't smell it and hopefully the cat can't either. If you have a cat or have any cat issues, post them so we could talk about it, talk about it,talk about it, t-alk about it babe. ok ok ok I know.

God give me wings......so I can fly across the Atlantic.

All of my friends are going home for the Holidays. I wish I was going home too. I haven't been to St. Thomas for a whole year now and I am feeling so nostalgic. I am missing out on everything. By the time I am able to go back home all of my friends would have graduated college and would forget about the island like so many before them. I would be the only person I know hanging out at the old bars that would be packed with a new generation of alcoholics. I am so pissed.

uh.....

Yea so today I checked my voice mail and I got a message from a lady offering me a job. So I called her back and it turns out I had applied for a job as a manager in Exton, PA. I have no Idea what she was talking about. I don't remember applying for that job. I don't even know where Exton, PA is. So I told her that I was not interested in the position. That was so weird. So later on I got another voice mail from another woman calling me for a phone interview. She was located a lot closer to me than Exton so I gave her a ring back but she had left for the day. I will give her a ring tomorrow. I have a job right now that I like but it doesn't pay as much as most places. I am not motivated by money but I do have a lot of bills. Its really hard finding a job that you love and pays well at the same time. I use to have a good paying job but I was so unhappy there that I quit. Sometimes I wish I didn't because I would be in a better financial situation now but I am happier......I think.

Top 10 Don'ts when vacationing in the "islands"

1. Don't wear your bathing suit every where you do. The island isn't one big beach.
2. Don't feed the iguanas. They are like stray, cats they'll keep coming back for more.
3. Don't smoke pot with a Rasta man unless you intend to have his mulato babies.
4. Don't sleep on the beach at night....its just not smart.
5. Don't underestimate the power of the sun. You will get burned.
6. Don't assume the natives can't speak english.
7. Don't get your hair braided with red, yellow and green beads. It's a dead give away.
8. Don't drive on the wrong side of the road. Think England.
9. Don't eat what you cant recognize. ie: mountain chicken isn't chicken its a frog.
10. Don't worry, be happy. You're on vacation in the islands instead of Dorney Park!
